PHOTOS: Medfield Boys' Lax Cruises by Medway for 3rd Straight Win
Medfield dominated both sides of the ball Tuesday enroute to a 16-2 victory over Medway to improve to 3-0 in Tri-Valley League.
The boys' lacrosse team continued its early season domination over the Tri-Valley League, cruising past Medway 16-2 Tuesday for its third straight win.
Medfield was impressive from both sides of the ball, especially in the second and third quarters – scoring six goals in each – enroute to the 14-goal victory.
"I think the offense is clicking," said Medfield co-head coach Mike Douglas. "Usually you don’t see the offense clicking the way they are early on. When they’re really playing well together they’re making the extra pass, they’re trusting each other and that’s big."

David Parsons led Medfield in scoring with four goals Tuesday and was one of eight Warriors to score. Conor Roddy, Cal Given, Andrew Melvin, Chris Diana and Tyler Hagan added two goals apiece and Jack Isaf had one.
In Medfield's first three games this season, the Warriors have outscored their opponents 50-9 and while the offense has been exceptional, so has the defense.

"Defensively, we’ve looked very good, which missing two returning starters, you wouldn’t necessarily expect them to come out and play at the level that we’re playing at right now," Douglas said.
Contributing to the team's defense has been two young goalies – Dougie Nelson and Robert Treiber.
Nelson has started the Warriors' first three games and on Tuesday made six first half saves. Treiber took the net in the second half, as he has done in all of Medfield's games this season, and made four saves while giving up two fourth quarter goals.
"Goalies have played great," Douglas said. "Neither guy had a lot of experience at the varsity level. We wanted to see when we got to games early on what they would be able to do in game situations with a little more pressure. Fortunately, the first three games we have had the luxury to do that."
The key to Medfield's early season success has been ball possession, according to Douglas.
"We are limiting our opponents’ possession time both with winning face-offs, the offense controlling possession and defensively, we are playing very sound," Douglas said.
Medfield will look to make it four straight TVL victories when it hosts Hopkinton Thursday at 5 p.m. Warriors' fans will remember Hopkinton dealt Medfield its first TVL loss since 2002 last season.
"Last time we played them, we know what happened," Douglas said. "Medway beat Hopkinton early on in the season, which I think a lot of people probably didn’t expect. Hopkinton has always been a very well coached team. They do things the right way and if you don’t come to play them, well we learned that the hard way last time."
