PHOTOS: Medfield Boys' Soccer 'Frustrated' by Westwood Friday
Medfield falls to 1-10-4, 1-9-4 on the season after Friday's 2-0 loss to visiting Westwood.
Jake Drew scored two second half goals for Westwood as the visting Wolverines shut out Medfield, 2-0 Friday at the MHS turf.
"Our biggest problem right now is we just can't find the back of the net," said Medfield head coach Jason Heim. "We had opportunities and I feel like we could have had two goals in that game easily but when we get those opportunities we squander them."
Medfield for the better part of 80 minutes outchanced Westwood but the Wolverines kept the advantage in possession time and when Drew found the back of the net off the post with 5:22 remaining in the second half – the game was Westwood's to lose.

"That's been the story of the year," Heim said. "Even their first goal, beautiful goal off one post and off the other. Teams seem to be getting those against us. ... "I keep telling the guys you can't win a game unless you put the ball on traget. Even if they put it on target, there's a chance for a rebound."
While a 1-10-4 season has been "frustrating," according to Heim, there's been some positives.

"This team is very inexperienced at the varsity level but I think they'll be ready next year," Heim said. "We've had some great games [over the season] ... not [Friday]. We had showed some really good stuff against Holliston [Thursday] and against some of the top teams we've had some nice play."
Another positive for Heim this season has been the play of two of his players, who have emerged as leaders.
"Sophomore striker Brett Keleher is a special player," Heim said. "When he gets the ball on his foot he can score and he can shoot. He's had a great season so far. The other one is senior John Avril, who has been asked to mark the best strikers in the league and has done a great job on them. Some of the fastest, strongest kids out there, who are goal scorers, he's chasing around."
Heim said Westwood had to get one point out of its next four games and got it Friday against Medfield.
"They are playing some of the top teams in the league [to close the season]," Heim said. "So they definitely wanted to get this one over with and out of the way now."
Medfield travels to Bellingham on Oct. 25 for a 6:45 p.m. game before wrapping up the season on Oct. 28 at home against Ashland at 6:30 p.m.
