PHOTOS: Medfield Softball Rallies Past Norton for First Win

Trailing Norton, 3-0 in the bottom of the fifth inning, Medfield's bats came to life, sparking a big inning that proved to be the game-winning rally.

Medfield erupted for a seven-run fifth inning enroute to a 7-4 victory over the Lancers Thursday to win its first game of the season and give head coach Travis Taliaferro his first career win as the Warriors' coach.

"We definitely still have some youthful nerves out there, but I couldn't be
happier with the overall effort we showed," Taliaferro said.

Medfield was led by the timely hitting of Allie Duchesneau, who came through for the second day in a row with a two-RBI single.

Freshman Jackie Flint hit well and was on base four times, and Dannielle Vaclavik went 2-for-4.  

Jessi O'Loughlin picked up her first win of the season, scattering eight hits over seven innings. She also reached base three times.

"Flint, Vaclavik, and Heide anchored the defense, which got out of a bases
loaded-no out jam in the third inning," Taliaferro said.

Medfield remains home for its next game, which will be Monday against Seekonk at 3:45 p.m.
