Planning Board Continuation on MCC Site Approval ....
Planning Board Meeting will be on Monday, 10/2 at 8pm re TRAFFIC Discussions - Medfield Children's Center Proposal for High Street.

Medfield Children's Center Site Approval Continuance - Planning Board meeting 10/2 at 8pm.
Medfield Children's Center is seeking Site Approval from the Planning Board and on Monday night (8pm) the topic of discussion will be in regard to the traffic issues related to having this school/daycare built at the 75 High Street location (on Rt 27).
This will be the 4th consecutive Planning Board meeting on the topic of Medfield Children's Center (MCC) requested site approval. Previous meetings have discussed the blasting which will need to take place on that site, as this location is mainly rock and ledge, as well as site design, which shows only one entrance/exit onto Rt. 27.
Neighbors and abutters have made it known that they have quite a few concerns and questions about this proposed potential 120 student daycare/school. Neighbors on High Street, as well as Forest St., Granite St., Turner Hill Road and Garry Rd., have attended some of these meetings.

The most recent Planning Board meeting on Sept 16th dealt with the issues of blasting. Neighbors were given some information about the process in regard to home surveys prior to blasting, but the cost of this service was restricted to people living in a specific distance from the blast site(s). Concerns were brought up regarding the amount of prolonged blasting, damage to homes, length of the entire process and how blasting could affect their pets.
The Oct 2nd meeting will address the traffic issues related to the potential 120 students (and staff) coming and going from the site, as well as the location being at the crest of an incline on Rt 27. Neighbors have already stated concerns about this site and traffic issues with Rt 27 being a heavily traveled road both day and night. In addition, the proposed drawings show only one entrance/exit onto Rt 27, and they fear traffic will increase on the side roads, i.e., Forest St. and Granite St., if cars cannot safely exit left onto Rt 27.

At the Sept 16th meeting, the architect for this project spoke with confidence that if all approvals are complete on the schedule they have set, the project, and specifically the blasting could begin as soon as November 2017.
This meeting is an open public meeting. Monday, October 2nd at 8pm - Town Hall - Chenery Hall.
