Police Logs: Threatening Text Message, Downed Trees and Family Disturbance

Highlights from Medfield police and fire logs from Feb. 21 to March 1.

Tuesday, Feb. 21:

1:06 a.m. – Roxanne J., Desper, 40, 52 Northway St., Holliston was arrested after a motor vehicle stop on Route 27 near the Transfer Station on North Meadows Road. Desper, who had a warrant out for her arrest issued by Attleboro District Court, was charged with attaching plates to a motor vehicle, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, license not in possession, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and operating after suspension of registration. Bail Commissioner Bob Quinn denied bail and officer Daniel Pellegrini transported Desper to Dedham District Court at 7:50 a.m. Tuesday.

12:54 p.m. - Woman from Pleasant Street called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for her husband, who had passed out twice. The husband had a bad cold and his doctor would like to see him. Westwood paramedics responded to the scene and transported the patient to Norwood Hospital.

7:56 p.m. - 911 caller from Main Street reported she may have a fire in her basement. Box alarm struck and cars notified. Fire Department reported later there was no fire and it was a problem with the furnace.

Wednesday, Feb. 22:

9:45 a.m. - Man from Lantern Lane came into the station to speak to an officer about new information regarding a fraud case.

2:31 p.m. - Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported someone blew a tire near 120 North Meadows Rd. Requested Highway Department to clean the road.

6:43 p.m. - Woman from Pound Street reported her husband was acting unusual and requested the ambulance. Patient transported to Norwood Hospital.

Thursday, Feb. 23:

1:57 a.m. - Received a 911 call for an individual that took about 30 Larazipan and may be violent. The call was received on Vinald Road. Individual was taken to the hospital.

7:21 p.m. - Female caller requested the ambulance for a woman having medical issues. Woman refused the ambulance.

11:03 p.m. - Woman requested the ambulance on High Street for a 93-year-old woman who fell and injured her ankle. Ambulance transported patient to MetroWest Natick.

3:14 p.m. - Caller from West Street reported there is an individual giving one of his workers a hard time.

5:15 p.m. - Individual came into the station to report someone broke the door handle off the screen door leading into the apartment next door to the one she rented. She said nobody got inside the apartment and requested extra checks of the area.

6:57 p.m. - Caller reported kids inside the Laundromat, kicking the machines and going through laundry. Officer removed four kids from the property.

Friday, Feb. 24:

8:06 a.m. - Woman from Wilkens Glen Road called to report the fire alarm was going off. The Medfield Fire Department reported it was a medic alert and fire chief William Kingsbury reported the apartment unit was empty.

8:57 a.m. - Man from West Street requested the Animal Control officer because he had some kind of animal in his fireplace.

4:30 p.m. - Medfield Police issued a 17-year-old male from Medway a court summons on charges of threatening to commit a crime and bodily harm after he allegedly sent a threatening text message to a Medfield girl.

Saturday, Feb. 25:

10:48 a.m. - Woman called from Arnold Drive to report a microwave fire in the kitchen. Fire alarm sounded. Fire chief William Kingsbury reported fire was under control and all units were clear.

11:17 a.m. - Many callers reported a tree down on South Street near Rocky Lane. NSTAR and fire department notified. Sergeant Burton requested detail officer and Highway Department notified for detour signs.

11:22 a.m. - Caller reported a tree on a house and the homeowner was away on vacation. NSTAR and fire department notified. Officer spoke with neighbors and left message for homeowner. Power was cut to the house.

11:44 a.m. - Report of tree on wires. NSTAR was notified.

3:31 p.m. - Woman called from Main Street to request the ambulance for a 30-year-old woman who was having a seizure or was unconscious for a few seconds. Ambulance and paramedics responded. Transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

6:02 p.m. - Caller from Kenney Road requested the ambulance for a 55-year-old man who may have taken too many sleeping pills. Patient was transported to Norwood Hospital.

6:25 p.m. - Man requested the ambulance for a possible broken ankle in the parking lot of Wilkens Glen. Millis ambulance transported patient to Norwood Hospital.

Sunday, Feb. 26:

9:19 a.m. - Caller reported water all over the street near 230 South St. Caller suggested it might be coming from the pumping station.

5:58 p.m. - Caller from Elm Street reported she had an electrical fire. Fire alarm sounded. Fire Department responded at 6:02 p.m. At 6:25 p.m. all units were cleared and it was reported the fire was put out on arrival. All was OK.

Monday, Feb. 27:

1:45 p.m. - Officer reported he would be on a traffic stop on Route 27 by the Kingsbury Pond in Medfield. Officer reported one was under arrest. At 4:45 p.m., the bail commissioner was notified and cash bail was set at $40. At 5:05 p.m. bail commissioner Bail Quinn was in the station to bail the subject out. Daniel Deprisco, 34 of First Parish Road, Canton was arrested on charges of operating after license or right to operate was revoked and license not in possession.

Tuesday, Feb. 28:

1:28 a.m. (UPDATED on April 19, 2012) - UPDATE: The name of the man arrested has been removed from the police logs because the charges were dismissed by the judge, according to Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr. "When the parties went in front of the judge they explained that the initial issue had been resolved and that the victim did not wish to proceed with the charges. The judge then has the ability to dismiss the charges, which was done," Meaney said. Original report: 911 caller from Knollwood Road reported her two sons were out of control and she would like the police. Officer reported he was enroute back to the station with one under arrest on charges of domestic assault and battery. At 2:32 a.m. Sergeant Fabbo notified Bob Quinn and he would be enroute to bail the subject. 

Wednesday, Feb. 29:

1:58 p.m. - Received a call from Town Hall of suspicious activity on the property. Two men in a pick-up truck with chain saws were cutting trees. Officer reported men were working for property owner.

Thursday, March 1:

8:51 a.m. - Caller from West Mill Street reported an aggressive driver on Route 27 southbound. Walpole notified.
