Police Logs, March 23-28

Highlights from police and fire logs.

Wednesday, March 23:

7:40 a.m. – Caller reported a suspicious motor vehicle on Algonquin Road. Officer reported no problem - it was an employee with the tree removal crew.

1:26 p.m. – Caller from Pine Street requested an ambulance for her husband because he was experiencing back pain. Ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

1:46 p.m. – Young boy called the 911 line. He said no one was hurt and it was unknown what the problem was. Officer responded to Wilkens Glen Road residence and spoke with child and parents. Child said father was sleeping and he could not wake him.

5:06 p.m. – Cell caller reported cars parked around in front of the high school on both sides. Caller said if there were a problem, the fire department would not get through. Officers checked the area and reported no problem.

7:41 p.m. – Caller reported a dead muskrat in front of the white barn on Causeway Street.

8:07 p.m. – Cell caller reported a deer ran into the side of his car on Hartford and Main Streets. He did not see the deer when he stopped. Also, there was damage to his car. He said he would stop by the station and get an accident report.

Thursday, March 24:

12:47 a.m. – Caller from Tilden Village reported tenants in an apartment are always banging on the floor, all the time. Caller wanted an officer to speak to the tenants. Officers notified and spoke to the caller.

11:23 a.m. – officer Sallale was out on a motor vehicle stop on Main Street. Citation was issued.

2:13 p.m. – Caller requested an officer regarding a motor vehicle accident. Officer Sallale reported to scene. Accident occurred near Bank of America on Main Street.

2:36 p.m. – Alarm company called to report an alarm going off at Dover Farm Road. Officer notified but at 2:47 p.m. the alarm company called back to cancel.

4:14 p.m. – Individual from Vine Brook Road came into the station to report at 456 Main St., Absi Jewelers, that someone drilled out the lock. Individual wanted officer to check to see if it was the owner. Officer reported it was indeed the owner.

5:09 p.m. – Fire alarm came in for 89-91 Pleasant St. Fire and police notified. Sergeant Mayer reported nothing was showing. Fire Chief William Kingsbury reported it was smoke from cooking.

5:35 p.m. – Individual from Adams Street called to report someone throwing rocks in her yard and wanted to speak to an officer. Officer Flaherty reported he was clear of the scene and filed a report.

6:04 p.m. – Mr. Iethlod came into station to report he was just in a motor vehicle accident on Main Street near Cumberland Farms.

7:15 p.m. – Don Gabor of 78 Bridget St. called to report he lost his dog but called back at 7:21 p.m. to repot he found his dog.

8:35 p.m. – Frank Iafolla of 63 Frairy St. called to report someone going into 60 Frairy St. Officer notified and reported it was the Realty company.

10:50 p.m. – Individual from Oriole Road called emergency 911 to report his old neighbor of Lake Wood Drive called him up and told him to come outside and he will beat him up. Officer notified and reported she called the individual and he stated that he got a similar call.

Friday, March 25:

7:35 a.m. – Motor vehicle accident reported on Route 27 and 115. Sherborn police notified.

9:25 a.m. – Officer Pellegrini was on radar at Noon Hill and South Street.

9:31 a.m. – Individual reported his mother’s motor vehicle was stolen in Boston, while he had the car. Motor vehicle contained home information and keys. He would like extra drive bys. Mother is in Florida at this time. If there was a problem, man asked police to call him in Boston.  Mother would also like to be notified.

9:51 a.m. – Officer Sallale was out on a motor vehicle stop on North Street and issued a citation.

11:05 a.m. – Caller reported she had a sick animal in her yard. Animal Control officer responded to Stuart Street home.

11:10 a.m. – UPS reported a stray dog on Adams Street. Animal Control notified.

12:47 p.m. – Man came into station with keys he found on Hospital Road.

1 p.m. – Individual came into station and spoke to officer Pellegrini regarding annoying calls.

4:12 p.m. – Female manager from Noon Hill Grill on Main Street called emergency 911 from the restaurant to request an ambulance for a 19-year-old woman who passed out. At 4:29 p.m. the ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

6:15 p.m. – Individual from Loeffler Lane came into the station to report he received an annoying phone call from a man Thursday, March 24 at 10 p.m. Wanted it noted and if it keeps happening, man will notify his phone company.

7 p.m. – Individual from Flint Locke Lane called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for her husband who had popped his hip out.

8:43 p.m. – Employee from Bullards Market and Package Store on North Street called and requested an officer. He wanted an officer to check a party’s ID for him to make sure it is OK. Sergeant Ray Burton reported no problem with Vermont Driver’s License.

9:41 p.m. – Individual from Green Street called to request an officer to remove the kids that were running around the parking lot of the Hinkley swim pond at 51 Green St with flashlights. Sergeant Burton spoke to the group of kids playing flashlight tag. They were removed and will not return.

10:18 p.m. – Individual from Westview Road called to report some kids making a lot of noise behind his house. Possibly on Loeffler Lane. Officer Stephen Gover reported he checked the area with no luck.

Saturday, March 26:

1:19 a.m. – Woman from 81 Adams St. called emergency 911 to report a motor vehicle accident on the corner of West and Adams Streets. Officer notified and reported a vehicle was in a snow bank and there was damage to road sign.

8:02 a.m. – Detective Geary reported he was on radar at South Street.

1:43 p.m. – Individual from Orchard Street called to report three boys were skate boarding on Causeway Street and would like an officer to check on them. Officer notified but reported kids were gone on arrival.

7:43 p.m. – Man from Marlyn Road called from his cell phone to report a motor vehicle going in and out of traffic, weaving in and out of his lane. Officer Sallale was out with the car in the parking lot of the CVS store on Main Street. Sergeant Wilhelmi was enroute and requested on duty wrecker to scene. Officer Sallale came into the station with Matthew Hennessey so he could call for a ride. Joseph Mucci arrived to the station to pick up Hennessey.

10:27 p.m. – Individual from Alcott Way called emergency 911 to request the ambulance for a 15-year-old female who had too much to drink. At 10:48 p.m. the ambulance was enroute to Norwood Hospital with patient.

Sunday, March 27:

11:34 a.m. – 911 caller reported he needed an ambulance for his wife who was cold and he thinks was not breathing.

12:09 p.m. – Caller reported she caught a flying squirrel in her house. She wanted to talk to Animal Control.

12:39 p.m. – Caller reported the lights not working at Route 109 at Route 27. The lights are stuck on red. It may be due to the fire trucks going through the center. Officer reported CSX is working on the tracks at Dale Street. This may also be the problem with the lights.

1:42 p.m. – Caller reported dirt bikes behind the Wheelock School.

Monday, March 28:

10:46 a.m. – Outside fire alarm came into the station from the Thomas Upham House at 519 Main St. Fire Chief William Kingsubry reported not fire, just a little smoke from the kitchen.
