Rep. Garlick Recognizes Eileen DeSorgher for MHA Service

Medfield Housing Authority members and Tilden Village residents join in the celebration.

With tears of friendship and words of deep appreciation, State Rep. Denise Garlick recently helped to recognize Medfield resident Eileen DeSorgher for her 12 years of service as a Medfield Housing Authority (MHA) commissioner.

Garlick presented DeSorgher with an official Resolution from the Massachusetts House of Representatives, while MHA Chair Lisa Donovan presented her with a combination plaque and clock.

Garlick’s presence was especially notable given it was Election Night, and her first time out since having surgery.

"I would run here, I would crawl here, for this very good woman,” said Garlick

The Resolution states, in part, "Eileen DeSorgher has used her deep sense of social justice and civic responsibility to advocate for lost voices and marginalized people, and to remind staff and volunteers that first and foremost is respect for residents in affordable housing, and their dignity as friends, neighbors and valued residents in Medfield...she is cherished by her friends, and valued by leaders and citizens..."

After accepting the gifts and words of appreciation, DeSorgher noted to event attendees, including MHA board members and many Tilden Village residents, “I may be retired from the board, but I’m not retired from helping you."
