MEC Requests Medfield Community to Complete (Short) SURVEY by April 15, 2023

The Medfield Energy Committee, along with the School Committee, is exploring the possibility of adding solar arrays to the schools' parking lots and/or roofs. Installing solar arrays would provide multiple benefits to the Medfield Public Schools, the town, and the community:

  • Reducing the town’s greenhouse gas emissions
  • Off-setting energy use in the schools
  • Saving money and stabilizing future expenses
  • Creating a visible reminder that the schools intend to be a part of the climate solution
  • Helping counteract climate anxiety and improve mental health in children
  • Mitigating the heat island at the school parking lots
  • Protecting cars and pedestrians from sun and inclement weather

We are seeking the opinions of the community to better understand overall interest, questions, and concerns that may be connected to these projects.
