The scouts donned masks, high visibility vests and attended a safety briefing before heading out to the streets to start collecting. Each crew made several trips to the Medfield Transfer Station, where the trees were piled up and will later be recycled.
"This is our troop's only fundraiser for the year, and it's critical to our ability to provide scouting opportunities at a reasonable price point. It's a service the scouts look forward to providing each year. From the town administrators to the Medfield Transfer Station staff and the residents who register, we are so incredibly grateful for their continued support," said Scoutmaster James Hatch.

The scouts collected over 300 trees on January 2nd. However, they will need to collect just over 330 more on January 8th to beat last year's record of 630 trees. If you would like Troop 89 to
collect your trees and greens, please register online at www.troop89medfield.org. Suggested donations are $20 for a large tree, one that's over 10 feet tall, to $15 for a smaller tree.
