Route 109 Road Work to begin soon...

How will the Road Construction in Medfield on Rt 109 affect you? We asked and Town officials have the answers!

Many Medfield residents and PATCH readers have been curious about the Main Street (Rt 109) signs which announce Road Construction in early August!

Superintendent of Public Works Maurice Goulet is currently on vacation, however, Police Chief Bob Meaney and Town Administrator Mike Sullivan shared some information regarding the upcoming road work.

  • Rt 109 road work will consist of grinding, leveling and paving of the roadway
  • Scheduled to begin the week of Aug 14th
  • Weather conditions (rain, high temperatures) could affect schedule
  • Equipment availability could affect schedule
  • The area of Rt 109 affected will be Medfield Center as well as a short distance East of the intersetion with South St and West of the intersection with Rt 27
  • Traffic - the part of the project most disruptive to traffic (grinding and paving) will be done at night
  • Traffic lights will be on automatic cycle for a few days of this process
  • Traffic - some work will be done during the day - it will be less disruptive to traffic
  • Some traffic may be re-routed
  • Expected completion in 2 weeks - subject to change
