Sat. January 5th is Styrofoam and Electronics RECYCLE DAY!

Mark your Calendar for 1/5/19, but please read details on acceptable STYROFOAM (9am-noon) and ELECTRONICS (9am-1pm) collections at the TS.

The following provided by Rick Fink, Medfield TSARC.

Medfield Transfer Station and Recycling Committee announces STYROFOAM and ELECTRONICS Collection.

Styrofoam does a great job of protecting your parcels but that large pile acquired after the holidays isn’t going to enhance your home’s decor. Thankfully, the Transfer Station can help you
eliminate the clutter before A&E producers approach you about an upcoming episode of Hoarders.

The Transfer Station and Recycling Committee (TSARC) and the Department of Public Works in Medfield is teaming up to collect your foam packing blocks, foam coolers, and foam shipping containers on Saturday, January 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

“The clean, white-only foam we gather at our three collections throughout the year is brought to a facility that densifies the styrofoam through a recycling processor,” says Barb Meyer of the TSARC. “The material is converted into a heavy brick and used in manufacturing of home goods.”

Residents can also unload all unwanted electronic products on January 5 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon. There is a FEE for most electronic items accepted for recycling.
