Summer Intern: Medfield Transfer Station Swap Shop Associate

Part -time / Mid-May through Mid-August / but FLEXIBLE

Wed, Fri, and Saturdays 9-4

The Medfield Transfer Station and Recycling Center is seeking an energetic, self-motivated individual with a love for the environment, to assist at its Swap Shop. The Swap Shop is an Entirely Volunteer Run program.

Responsibilities include:

• Daily opening and closing procedures
• Organizing and recycling goods
• Facility planning and maintenance
• Assist shoppers as needed
• Communication with various departments, volunteer groups, and non profit personel.
• Social media postings
• Cleaning and some heavy lifting.

Qualifications include:

• A creative “out-of-the-box” thinker
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to multi-task
• Self-starter
• Well organized with the ability to work independently (at times with minimal supervision) and in groups of diverse individuals
• Ability to follow instructions
• Social Media savvy is a plus
• Excellent problem-solving skills (MacGyver)
• Ability to be on your feet all day in an outdoor environment
