A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1964 Corning Medical Instruments, a division of Corning Glass Works, began the manufacturing in Medfield of scientific instruments, pH meters, analyzers and related items. This facility began in an area of 10,000 square feet in what was part of the old hat factory, now the Montrose School on North Street. In 1973 it expanded to 150,000 square feet with a total work force of over 500, bringing a great economic advantage in many ways to the town of Medfield."
