Thirty Fourth Week, Sunday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1651 an agreement was made between the selectmen and George Barber for the building of Medfield’s first mill. Barber agreed to build the mill on the brook, now named Mill Brook nears South Plain, at the bend in what is now Elm Street. Barber and his heirs would be required to maintain and keep in good preservation, at his own charge, the mill and dam for the town’s use. In return the selectmen granted Barber 25 acres of upland and meadow lands by the mill and permitted him to do any damming needed to operate the mill."
