A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"On April 14, 1828 James Plimpton was born in the Plimpton home on 230 North Street. On January 6, 1863 James patented, under federal patent laws, his new invention, the roller skate. By the 1870s roller skating had become a national craze."
