A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1909 an epidemic of measles occurred with over 100 cases reported. It was so widespread and of such magnitude that it was found necessary to close the Ralph Wheelock School on Pleasant Street for several weeks. The epidemic was locally caused by one of the Medfield students who came in contact with the disease unknowingly from an individual in a nearby town."
