A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1935 Albert and Agnes Larkin, who had lost their business near present day Gillette Stadium by a horrific fire, visited Medfield. They inquired about the vacant store at 20 North Street and the fact that there was no liquor store in the town. The Larkins proceeded to rent the store from owner Clinton Frost, receive a liquor license from the town and open Medfield’s first liquor store since the ending of prohibition; thus, beginning the 85-year-long connection to the town of Medfield and seeing three generations of Larkins own and operate Larkins Medfield Package Store."
