A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"On April 28, 1914, the name of the Medfield State Asylum was changed to Medfield State Hospital. Reasons for the change were due to the facility becoming a receiving hospital and due to improvement of conditions at the asylum in the care of patients. The change to being called a “hospital” would do more along the medical and scientific lines than has been done in the past."
