A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"On June 8, 1816 the last measurable snow ever recorded in Medfield took place. No one could remember snow in June. Local reports stated that Medfield farmers donned mittens to work in the fields. On June 10 another frost hit Medfield. News accounts reported icicles nearly a foot long; ice was found in town wells. Below freezing temperatures took place for eight of the first 12 nights in June that year."
