Town of Medfield Has Been Awarded A Grant of $1,138,176

The Town of Medfield is excited to announce that it has been awarded a grant of $1,138,176 through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) program.

This funding will enable Medfield to hire four full-time firefighters/paramedics and support their salaries and benefits for three years. This grant will allow us to fully staff a second ALS ambulance and allow us to immediately respond with four firefighters on an engine when needed.

The SAFER grant was established to provide direct funding to fire departments, helping them to increase or maintain the number of trained, "front line" firefighters available in their communities.

The primary objective of SAFER is to bolster local fire departments' capacity to meet staffing, response, and operational standards as outlined by the NFPA (NFPA 1710 and/or NFPA 1720).
