A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1891 Article 17 of the Annual Town Meeting asked “to see if the town will grant a bounty on rattlesnakes taken and killed in town.” Rattlesnakes were seen throughout town and especially in Rocky Woods. After much debate, the article was defeated. A rattlesnake measuring almost five feet was killed by Daniel Garfield."
