Twenty-fourth Week, Sunday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"Medfield’s first Town Clerk was Henry Adams, elected at the incorporation of the town in 1651. He built a house on Elm Street next to Mill Brook. In the summer of 1652, he bought the mill next to his house that had been built by George Barber. In addition to being the first town clerk he was the principal military officer of the town and was repeatedly elected to the Board of Selectmen and as our representative to the legislature. His house was burnt during the attack on the town during the King Philip War and he was slain in the doorway of the house. His wife Elizabeth was killed at the same time by friendly fire."
