"Medfield’s longest serving member on the Board of Selectman was Samuel Barber who served 33 years; 1686-1698, 1700-1706, 1708-1716, 1718-1720. He is followed by Ann Thompson who served 30 years from 1983-2013. There have been 21 selectmen with the name Adams, 20 with the name Clark, 18 with the name Ellis, 18 with the name Wight, 13 with the name Plimpton, 13 with the name Smith, 12 with the name Morse, 11 with the name Fisher, 11 with the name Allen and 11 with the name Harding."
