A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"Nathan Plimpton grew up in the Plimpton homestead, opposite the cemetery at the corner of Main and Causeway Streets. He was a weaver and later owned a house on North Street. He was one of several who were dissatisfied with the appointment of Reverend Mr. Townsend as minister of the church. For this he was ostracized and forbidden to receive communion. Plimpton left the church altogether and was largely influential in the formation of the Baptist Church in Medfield. He died in 1781."
