A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"At the time of Medfield’s 250th anniversary in 1901, the town’s population had grown to 1,600, not counting the residents at the state hospital. It was a typical New England town with green fields, lush meadows, winding rivers and consisting of 335 dwellings. The Town had established itself as a location for artists and musicians. Noted artists George Inness and Dennis Miller Bunker resided here as did musicians Charles Martin Loeffler and James Carroll Bartlett."
