A Medfield Historical Minute...

This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.

"In 1852 the carriage manufacturing of Jacob R. Cushman joined with partner Joseph H. Baker in building horse-drawn carriages. They expanded with the building of a large plant along Meetinghouse Pond and Upham Road. The plant was made up of five different buildings and gave constant employment to fifteen skilled workmen. The Medfield butcher wagon made there was in great demand throughout New England."
