Twenty-sixth Week, Friday's "Medfield Historical Minute"
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis.

A Medfield Historical Minute...
This "Medfield Historical Minute" is brought to you by town historian Richard DeSorgher.
A little something to read and learn to give you a little break during this time of boredom during isolation due to the Coronavirus Crisis. A different "Medfield Historical Minute" will appear each day during the Crisis.
"In 1876 the original hat factory on North Street was totally destroyed by fire. It was at this point that Daniel D. Curtis, who had come to Medfield from Maine in the 1850’s, joined with partners Haskell Searle and Granville Dailey of New York City and built the current building that stands on North Street and is the current home of the Montrose School. Curtis gave his attention to the manufacturing end of the business while the New York partners, Seales and Dailey, attended to the sales and purchase of braid. Daniel D. Curtis died in December of 1885."
