United Church of Christ Invites Community to Heifer Events..
UCC Medfield is celebrating its 24th annual Heifer month – a time when Sunday School students raise awareness and funds for Heifer International, a non-profit organization that works with communities to end hunger and poverty and care for the earth.
UCC’s Heifer month focuses on one of Heifer’s guiding principles: “Passing on the Gift” of livestock - animal gifts that not only provide the means for families to feed themselves, but requires that each of those families give some of the animal’s offspring to another family in need. Each Sunday School class studies a different income-producing animal and learns how it improves the lives of those living in poverty.

Since 1994, UCC Medfield has raised over $210,000 for Heifer International. This year, UCC Medfield is inviting the community to two free Heifer events in the coming weeks.
On Sunday, October 21, from 10:15 am – 11:15 am, UCC is hosting a “Heifer Petting Zoo” for hands-on family fun with some Heifer animals like chicks, sheep and goats.
