ARTICLE 4: If approved, would authorize Selectmen to lease two buildings and land including the former Chapel, at former State Hospital property for an Arts and Cultural Center.

~ The Cultural Alliance, which is a non-profit organization, will fund the renovation and operations with private donations - NO TAX BURDEN!

~ The Arts Center:

• is integrated within the Master Plan for the State Hospital
• can proceed independent of the rest of the development
• preserves historic buildings
• maintains public access to the site
• will offer free and fee-based classes, performances, lectures, film, festivals, workshops and family events

The Cultural Alliance of Medfield proposes to preserve the Lee Chapel for a 300 seat performance venue and the infirmary for classrooms for music and art.
