Veterans Day Breakfast

On Veterans Day November 11th at 8:15 AM the Town of Medfield will honor its resident veterans with a free breakfast at “The Center” on Ice House Road. Medfield Veterans and their Spouses are invited to be our honored guests. All surviving spouses of veterans are also encouraged to attend as honored guests.

Attending the breakfast and offering a few words of appreciation will be State Senator James Timility, Representative Denise Garlick and Representative Shawn Dooley. Dale Kurtz, Norfolk County Veterans Advocate will offer some insight into the projects and plans that Norfolk County is developing to assist area Veterans and their families.

Seating is limited to 100 so it is important to sign up at the Medfield Senior Center on One Ice House Road. Registration is important toward assisting with food planning and seating requirements. If you can’t make it to the Center please give them a call @ 508-359-3665 to sign up, before November 6th.

Veteran Service Officer Ron Griffin coordinates the event but gets enormous help from a slew of volunteers who have offered their time to say thank you to our resident veterans.

All residents are welcome to attend a Veterans Day ceremony at Baxter Park sponsored by the American Legion. The brief ceremony beings a 5:00 PM and concludes with lighting of luminary candles along the walkway into Baxter Park. Luminaries can be obtained for a small donation at the American Legion on Peter Kristof Way. Luminaries will bear the names of anyone you wish to honor or remember. Proceeds from the Luminary help support sending female high School Juniors to Girls State.
