Patch: What inspired you to pursue a career in dentistry?

Dr. Lee: I always loved to do anything that would require dexterity. Dentistry requires both scientific knowledge and artistic sense. I found this fits perfectly in my interest.

Patch: What is your routine to take care of your own teeth?

Dr. Lee: I use an electric toothbrush and brush my teeth 2-3 times a day. After brushing about 3-4 min, I floss every site. I do spend a long time flossing. Then I swish my mouth with mouth wash for 30 sec. And yes, I do spend about 10 minutes or often more each time for my oral hygiene. Keeping my routine home care in this manner was challenging in the beginning, but it has become my own habit.

Patch: What makes Malden Dental Associates a good place for dental treatment?

Dr. Lee: As a practice, we are true believers that preventive care and education are the keys to optimal dental health. We practice all forms of dentistry: teeth whitening, fillings, crowns, veneers, bridges, root canals, dentures, surgical and wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting, implant placements, implant restorations and perio surgeries. Also, I have a sensational team!

Patch: What is the typical first appointment?

Dr. Lee: During a first appointment at Malden Dental Associates patients have their x-rays taken, are diagnosed by a treating dentist and have a dental cleaning done on the same day. When dental treatment is diagnosed during the exam, Dr. Liu or I will explain the medical reasoning behind any recommended dental treatment. Right now we have a new patient special: we offer free Teeth Whitening Trays to all new patients over 16. *Exam, x-rays & cleaning is required. If you have dental insurance, it will most likely be covered but if you are not sure, please call us (781) 322-0888 and we will gladly research it for you before your appointment.

Patch: How does a patient budget for or find out about total cost of treatment?

Dr. Lee: All recommended treatments will be printed out with applicable fees, then, an office manager or scheduling coordinator will go over the financial part of the dental treatment with a patient. This includes information around co-payments associated with each visit, how much dental insurance is expected to cover and how many appointment it will take to properly treat the ailment. Every patient receives a printed version of his/her dental treatment plan as we always strive to educate patients about their dental treatment.

Patch: What languages other than English, do you speak in office?

Dr. Lee: We speak Korean, Chinese, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian and Georgian. We are very international and multilingual team.

Patch: Where are you located?

Dr. Lee: Malden Dental Associates is conveniently located on 389 Main St Suite 204 in a City Plaza building next to Citizens Bank. Public metered parking is available on the other side of Citizens Bank.

Patch: What do you do or enjoy outside dentistry?

Dr. Lee: In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife Jihee, playing the guitar, love to discover different world cuisines and playing soccer.
