5 Arrested In Melrose Last Week: Police Log

MELROSE, MA — The following are derived from excerpts from last week's Melrose Police log. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Monday, June 24

11:09 p.m. - A parent brought in a missing child with warrants. The 17-year-old was arrested on warrant charges.

Tuesday, June 25

3:37 a.m. - Calls of a white sedan driving around with lights off, blasting music and what appeared to be nerf guns. Second straight weekend of this happening around Penney Hill Road. Police later stopped a car, spoke to a group of young males, and told them to return to Malden. No damage was found.

2:19 p.m. - Someone who was reported to be a suspicious male taking photos of homes on West Emerson actually was working for the assessor's office.

4:33 p.m. - A 48-year-old Melrose man from West Wyoming was arrested on warrant charges.

Thursday, June 27

6:38 a.m. - Racoons in trash barrels on Boardman Ave.

Friday, June 28

12:45 a.m. - A white SUV was stopped in the middle of pleasant street for an extended period of time. A 44-year-old man who lives on Pleasant Street was arrested on a charge of OUI liquor, second offense.

3:33 p.m. - A 50-year-old Somerville man was arrested as a fugitive from justice on a court warrant after a report of a shirtless man causing a disturbance at the Y.

Sunday, June 30

9:25 p.m. - A disturbance at a Greenwood Street apartment resulted in the arrest of a 24-year-old Hyde Park man on charges of domestic assault or assault and battery, intimidating a witness/juror/police/court official and strangulation.
