AARP Massachusetts Offers Free HomeFit Workshop in Beverly
Learn how to adapt your home to meet your changing needs

We love our homes. In fact, AARP surveys show that nearly 90% of people 50+ want to stay in their own homes and communities as they age, where they have strong social networks and a sense of familiarity. However, most people don’t discuss or think about the age-appropriateness of their home until a crisis makes it obvious that the space no longer meets their needs and abilities.
We often forget our homes are aging along with us. So take a look around, and think about whether you and your home are a good fit. If so, will your home continue to match your needs and abilities as you age? There are many changes you can make to your home, including several at little or no cost, which can greatly increase both comfort and safety for you and your family. Proper care of your home will also enable you to stay in your home for as long as possible.
To find out more about changes you can make to your home to make it safer for you, please attend a free AARP Massachusetts HomeFit Workshop on Thursday, June 18, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Beverly Council on Aging, 90 Colon Street, Beverly. Each attendee will receive an AARP HomeFit Workshop Handbook, The AARP HomeFit Guide, and a list of resources for reference.
