We have all heard stories in newspaper accounts about large numbers of drones roaming the skies over cities and suburbs in New Jersey and New York as well as others areas of the country. Late last evening, I experienced such an event over Melrose. While watching TV, I happened to glance up through my large bay window overlooking one of the greens at Mount Hood Golf Course, and noticed a drone. It was moving slowly along at tree-top level with flashing colored lights. It looked from a distance to be a fairly large drone. It was only there for about 10 seconds and then moved on. It was definitely not a helicopter since it was too low and had no discernible sound. I've seen many helicopters moving through the sky in my area over the years and this was nothing like them. These drones must be very sophisticated since they can fly at night -from personal experience, I know how challenging it can be to fly a drone in daylight let alone at night.
