Best Wishes to My Fellow Marathon Runners
Running the Boston Marathon is an experience I wish everyone could know.

It is finally here!
It is time to reconnect to our reasons for running the 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston tomorrow. I am taking time today to reflect on how fortunate I am to be able to participate. Being able to run the Boston Marathon is a gift. A gift I do not take for granted. It is a powerful experience I wish everyone could know.
Savor every minute.

I am dedicating my run tomorrow to loved ones I have lost to cancer, those who have won the battle and in support of the courageous currently in treatment. This brings me tremendous strength during the toughest miles.
Pushing myself physically and mentally breaks down my defenses and makes me vulnerable. It is not always comfortable, but the trade off is big. I see life with a degree of clarity I have rarely, if ever experienced with any other endeavor.

Remember, particularly you who are first-time marathoners, for each perceived set back there will be an equally if not more powerful moment of euphoric clarity. In running as in life, forward motion will bring you just where you are meant to be.
Wishing you all a safe journey on April 15.
