The choice we make for Mayor of Melrose this fall will set the city’s future. We need a mayor with experience and ideas to move Melrose forward and Paul Brodeur is that person.

The recent Sewage backup on Brazil Street shows why Melrose needs a mayor with experience who will leave no stone unturned when confronted with a city emergency.

While all the candidates have talked in general terms about addressing our aging infrastructure, as on Brazil Street, Paul is the only candidate who has developed a specific plan. He identified a state grant program which would fund an asset management plan for Melrose’s existing water infrastructure to help the city avoid future disasters.

Melrose failed to apply for the first round of grants, and Paul has urged the acting mayor to pursue those funds as the deadline for second-round applications is fast approaching.

As the former President of the Board of Aldermen, Paul Brodeur, our present state representative, is the only candidate with the depth and breadth of experience we need to lead our city.
