Driver Survives Devastating Saugus Crash
The driver of a Toyota Camry suffered what police said were non-life threatening injuries.
SAUGUS, MA — One person was injured in what looked to be a devastating crash on Essex Street Thursday morning.
Police responded to the crash around 10:54 a.m. near 226 Essex Street. They arrived to find that a Ford truck, with a trailer attached, collided with a Toyota Camry.
The driver of the Camry had to be extricated from the vehicle using hydraulic rescue tools. That person was transported to Massachusetts General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not injured.
Police said it appears the Camry crossed the center line and sideswiped the oncoming truck.
