Chris Cinella Has The Experience Melrose Needs
With all of the changes our City will see this fall, we would be best served by bringing someone of Chris's caliber to our City Council

The outcome of this year’s municipal election will give us the first newly elected Mayor in 18 years and a City Council that could have up to 10 new members. Change is a good thing and I am especially looking forward to these next two years as they are going to be very important for our community. A lot of work lies ahead on our buildings, infrastructure, traffic mitigation and our budget. Because we have so much work ahead and because we will have a lot of change on our City Council, I am supporting Chris Cinella for Councilor-at-Large.
Chris and I work in the same industry: Financial Services. It was that connection that led to our eventual friendship. A background in finance is a very important skill to bring to elected office. Understanding the impacts of financial decisions and the ability to forecast, read market data and analyze it, helps in forming a decision on issues large and small. But it isn’t just a background in finance that Chris will bring with him; it stretches even further than that. Chris is a small business owner in Melrose, downtown in the historical district.
Chris often volunteers and donates his time and money to a multitude of Melrose causes and events. Each August, Chris runs a backpack and school supplies donation drive to help those who are not as fortunate as others. Its a small but important act that positively impacts children and helps them prepare for school. He is also the President of the Melrose arm of Rotary International and is a Past President of the Melrose Chamber of Commerce. Serving as a member of the City Council, Chris understands the needs of economic development and ways we can make our business environment more friendly to existing and future businesses.

When I consider who I want to support for City Council I think of three main components: Dedication, Passion and Thoughtfulness. He is dedicated to Melrose through his past leadership roles with civic organizations. He is passionate about our community because he chose to open his business here, raise his family here and actively participate in many of the issues before Melrose over the years. Chris is thoughtful because he is someone who wants to see Melrose grow and provide the necessary services that will benefit everyone. He is not an ideologue. Chris takes a common sense approach to decision making and understands that making government more responsive and accountable is what matters to the residents.
Melrose can continue to succeed and in order to succeed it needs to have good people who are in the positions to make our decisions. Chris has shown this in spades. In fact, he is best suited for this role since he has been working on many of our current issues from the outside. Now is the time to bring him in and represent us. With all of the change we will see in our City this fall, we would be best served by bringing someone of Chris’ caliber to our City Council. His proven leadership abilities will benefit all of us.
