Watch The Coffee Tea & Me Building Get Torn Down
The longstanding Main Street building was home to a lot of memories.

MELROSE, MA - Demolition and construction crews on Tuesday finally tore down what was left of 419-429 Main Street, otherwise known as the Coffee Tea & Me building. The building will be rebuilt as part of a process the Planning Board approved in November. The process is expected to take about a year.
There have been a lot of memories in that building. It was the longtime home of Mike's Barber Shop, as well as housing the popular Coffee, Tea & Me. It also was home to Jeff Carbone Insurance Agency, Roman Music Therapy, Demiche Salon, and North Shore Martial Arts Studio.
The new building will be home to three businesses on the ground floor and 10 apartments above, "all of which will add to the vitality of our downtown," the City said online.
