It is quiet except for the squawking of the blue jays ,as they dash back and forth to and from the feeders. Summer birds seemed to have gone, but I have faith that the chickadees and gold finch are just waiting for the rain to stop.
The sand hill stands out across the-lake, and the colors of the small trees are muted in the mist. The tall evergreens appear almost black in color, as they stand silently, seeming to protect the scene.
