Why I'll be Voting Jessica Dugan for School Committee

I am writing to encourage all my fellow Melrose residents to consider Jessica Dugan for Melrose School Committee.

As an educator and parent of young children, I feel strongly that the results of the upcoming election for school committee are of supreme importance.  In the last year, I have witnessed exciting change for our schools here in Melrose, change that has already begun to catch us up with best practices, and to improve the educational experience for all our learners.  Jessica Dugan is the kind of candidate who will continue to build on that momentum and demand excellence for our schools.

Jessica is a parent and stakeholder in our schools, as well as an experienced, knowledgeable and passionate educator who has dedicated her career to improving education and leveraging resources for students.   She hopes to ensure a well-rounded, high-quality educational experience for her children, and for all the children of Melrose.  The grants she was written to bring artists-in-residence to the Lincoln School, as well as her contributions to developing the elementary schools’ science fair are concrete examples of the kinds of enrichment she seeks for our students.   She is a leader who will work collaboratively and productively to find the best solutions to the specific challenges facing our community, and to foster improved communication for all.

Melrose is a wonderful community with so much to offer families young and old, but in my opinion our schools still have some hard work ahead to reach our full potential.  Jessica Dugan is committed to making that happen.

In closing, if you are hopeful about the potential for Melrose Public Schools, whether for your children, your grandchildren, your theoretical yet-to-exist children, or even just for the increase in your property value, please use your vote on November 5, and consider Jessica Dugan.
