On Election Day, I’ll Be Holding A Sign For Cory Thomas
Why a Ward 6 resident will be out there, rain or shine, to support Cory Thomas.
On election day, I’ll be holding a sign for Cory Thomas at the Hoover, my old elementary school from the 1970’s.
Unfortunately, because I reside in Melrose Ward 6, I cannot vote for Cory even though city councilors make decisions that impact every member of the community, no matter where they may live. When Cory takes his seat at the table, I know that he will be looking out for the best interests of those that live in his ward AND the greater community. I have known Cory for over 30 years and I believe in him. I believe in his strength as a communicator, his long history and love for Melrose as well as his ability to work with others as an independent voice.
From a current issue’s perspective, Cory has taken a position on key topics impacting the city and I agree with many of them. He’s been fighting the good fight against the proposed 40b Project at Swains Pond since the beginning. When I wrote a letter to the Patch supporting the override, he was the first person to reach out to me and inform me that he will be voting YES with me. The real job always comes after the vote and I have faith that Cory will work tirelessly with his fellow elected officials to make sure those new funds are spent wisely.

His dedication to the children of our city is unquestionable and I believe that is where his passion and dedication will shine most. His desire to improve the experience of our children from an academic, infrastructure and safety perspective is something I cannot wait to see him tackle. If he brings half the passion to providing a positive experience for our kids to the city council, then we as a community will all receive tremendous benefit.
I’m placing my trust and support behind Cory Thomas; I only wish that I could place my vote with him, too. To my many friends that live in Ward 7 please believe in my good friend Cory Thomas and do what I am unable to, give him your vote.
