Male Struck, Killed by Vehicle in Melrose
Three other people were injured in the crash Monday evening.

MELROSE, MA — A male worker was killed after being struck by a sedan on Howard Street in Melrose Monday afternoon, according to police.
Police Chief Michael Lyle said Monday that police responded to 179 Howard St. for a report of a multi-vehicle crash. Upon arrival, police determined that a sedan heading westbound on Howard street when it collided with truck and a trailer which was parked on the road.
Police added that a man, who was likely in the process of loading or unloading equipment, was struck at the same time as the trailer. The sedan then proceeded to hit an SUV heading eastbound on Howard street, and ended up on its roof.

The worker was pronounced dead on the scene. Three occupants of the sedan were transported by ambulance to an area hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The SUV operator did not suffer any injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Melrose Police Department, the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis & Reconstruction Section and the Middlesex District Attorney's Office.
