Former Mayor Rob Dolan Supports Jack Eccles for City Council

The former Mayor of over 16 years details why Jack is a good choice to be one of your City Councilors.

Dear Neighbors

I ask you to join me in giving one of your four votes to Jack Eccles for City Council at Large on Election Day. There are many excellent candidates running for office but I feel compelled to write this letter of support for Jack.

I will vote for Jack Eccles because;

1. Jack was an intern in my office as Mayor for four years. As a student at Melrose High School I saw Jack’s passion to improve our community, belief in local government, creative mind and maturity and intelligence beyond his years. The job of an intern is not glamorous, but Jack turned smaller projects into real instruments of positive change.

2. In watching the League of Woman Voters debate, it is clear to me that Jack has a sharp understanding of the issues we face, has offered workable solutions to advance Melrose, and wants to listen and work with all!

3. As a legislative body the city council must have many perspectives and voices. Having graduated high school and college in this decade, his unique view of the community and its future are so important as we look towards a future for Melrose while respecting its past.

4. Melrose has a strong history of electing young people, who have a passion for improving our community, to positions of leadership. Some names that immediately come to mind are Mike Festa, Richard Tisei, Paul Broduer, Monica Mederios, and Pat Guerriero. That list also includes me, who at the age of 22 began a period of service that lasted 24 years. Different parties, different views, but all sharing a love for Melrose. Jack is ready for the job!

Please add Jack Eccles to that list of community leaders on November 5th with one of your four votes for City Council at Large.

Thank you.

Rob Dolan
