Homeland Security loses track of 1 million foreigners!

Folks…..you can’t make up a story like this! The Government Accounting Office just issued a report today noting that the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) under our illustrious Secretary Janet Napolitano, lost track of 1 million foreigners who entered the country but could not prove they left the country. This is the same department that told us they are ready to take on the responsibility for a new comprehensive immigration program that was passed by the senate recently. Oh really! I guess the next thing they will tell us is they have swamp land in Florida they want to sell us at a bargain price.

Under current law, the DHS was supposed to develop a system to check every visitor’s entry and departure from the country using a form of biometrics (i.e., fingerprints, retinal scans, etc.,).  This system is to apply to people entering via air, land and sea ports. However, the new Senate immigration bill waters down these requirements, and only requires a biographic-based system (i.e., photo) and limit it to air and sea ports.

This is beginning to “smell” more like that other great piece of legislation that was passed through bribes, corruption and extortion in 2010 called Obama Care!
