I Support Maya Jamaleddine for City Councilor-at-Large
"She is the type of advocate I want fighting for me as she intuitively knows what is right to do and does it." --Michael A. Stankavish

I am a resident of Melrose, a small business owner in Melrose, the current vice-chair of the Melrose Human Rights Commission, and a parent of a son who recently began kindergarten in the Melrose Public Schools. While countless opinions have been published about the candidates running for elected office, this one will be short: I whole-heartedly support Maya Jamaleddine for City Councilor at Large, and so too should you. Maya is intelligent; she is a tireless advocate; and, most importantly, she possesses an unparalleled genuine good-hearted nature.
Throughout my thirty-nine years, and my almost seven years living in Melrose, I’ve had the good fortune of crossing paths with many good people. However, having crossed paths with Maya is moment I will cherish for years to come. Maya represents all the good characteristics I try to instill in my son. She is genuine, kind, generous and loving. She is the type of person who runs across the street to say hello to a friend who she knows is dealing with difficult circumstances; she is the type of person who raises her own voice for those who are afraid to do so themselves; she is the type of person who draws out the best in people; she is the type of advocate I want fighting for me as she intuitively knows what is right to do and does it.
In this overly politicized environment, Maya represents a breath of fresh air. Her ability to remain open-minded is truly remarkable; and her tact for raising the public discourse is quite unique. Of all the accolades that can be said to describe Maya, perhaps the most important is this: Maya represents the best qualities and characteristics of a person whom I want my son to emulate, and I know she will bring those same qualities with her to City Hall.
