There was a cardinal in the back yard briefly. It flew from one of the snow covered bushes to the tall bare tree. Its color brightened up the snow covered area that now is the picture of winter.
The plows have done their jobs making the roads passible; and the neighbors have shoveled and snow blown the 16 inches of snow that fell all day yesterday, and into the night.
I have done my part where I could, and now after lunch I sit by the window watching the mystery of nature drop tiny flakes from the sky again.

This is a gentle snow not like the snow that fell all day yesterday and into the evening. It was impossible to have a clear view of the street because the snow fell fast and heavy.
