The following was submitted by Jen Grigoraitis:

“I am pleased to announce my candidacy to represent Ward 6 on the Melrose Board of Aldermen. I look forward to reaching out to my neighbors across the Ward, listening to your concerns and hopes, and working with you to capitalize on new opportunities and address challenges in an open-minded way. Over the coming weeks and months, I will be knocking on doors, convening events, and making myself accessible to as many Ward 6 families and businesses as possible.

As a resident of Lebanon Street and a Winthrop School and Franklin School parent, it would be an honor to represent our shared neighborhood and our priorities. Melrose has a vibrant small business sector that deserves investment and continued support. We must ensure that our roads, infrastructure and city services safely and sustainably meet the needs of our families, seniors, commuters, pedestrians, and cyclists, while creatively working to address challenges like parking and congestion. With nearly twenty years of experience managing federal funds and leading a state agency, my professional career has prepared me to manage complex budgets, motivate and support teams, and community groups and government together to effectively meet the needs of constituents. My husband Bill and I are active city and school volunteers and are dedicated to Melrose for the long-term. Let's get to work together for Ward 6!"
