Kate Lipper-Garabedian has been a Tireless Advocate for Melrose
Kate has made the sometimes opaque work local government accessible to all residents.

I am writing to heartily endorse Kate Lipper-Garabedian for Councilor-at-Large. Throughout her first term as Alderman (now Councilor) At-:arge, Kate has been a tireless advocate for all Melrose residents. I originally met Kate while she was outside campaigning on a cold, cloudy day for her first term, and I was immediately impressed by her positive attitude and commitment to bringing all Melrosians on the workings of our local government.
During her first term, she has delivered on bringing transparency to the goings-on of our city government in spades. No issue has been too small or mundane for her to solicit opinions from constituents or share information on her social media profiles. She maintains a quarterly email newsletter that tracks the major events in city hall and clearly lays out her thoughts on upcoming measures or important items affecting the city. Aside from digital engagement, she has paused on numerous occasions – whether on a busy MBTA platform or while out and about – to inquire about an upcoming proposal.

Another important area of focus for Kate has been issues with transportation and pedestrian concerns affecting our city. One of the reasons my family has enjoyed living in Melrose has been the walkability of our city. Kate worked to bring additional crosswalks to busy sections of Lebanon Street, which before had no easy way to cross. Whether it be additional crosswalks or applying for grants for infrastructure improvements, Kate’s work in government has been a big help to residents.
From her support of bringing local artists work to storefronts, helping plan the city budget, advocacy for zero waste, or addressing the challenges of transportation and infrastructure, Kate has made the sometimes opaque work local government accessible to all residents. On November 5th, I encourage voters to cast their ballot for Kate.
