Kevin Barry Pipes and Drums – New England Champions 2019

On September 21st 2019, Melrose-based Kevin Barry Pipes and Drums competed at the New Hampshire Highland Games at Loon Mountain, placing first in the pipe band competition. Recently promoted to a more competitive rank by the Eastern United States Pipe Band Association™, KBP&Ds swiftly justified this promotion, earning the title of New England Champions for 2019 over incumbent, similarly-graded bands.

Established in 1921, Kevin Barry Pipes and Drums is a non-profit organization dedicated to the advancement of piping and drumming in the community. Over the past several years, KBP&Ds enjoyed various honors, including a first place finish at the North American Pipe Band Championships in Maxville Ontario, Canada. Off the competition field, KBP&Ds performs for various local events such as the Melrose Memorial Day Parade.
